Tara CC London head to Ireland this weekend to play in the All Ireland Junior Championship quarter final, hoping to continue the success they have had in the championship in the last couple of years.
Two years ago the team reached the All-Ireland Junior Club Championship final, and last year got as far as the semi-final stage. With the girls in blue and white having came out of the London County Championship undefeated, they once again secured their place in the quarter final stage of the competition and will be hoping to continue their winning streak when feet touch down on Irish soil.
Tara will play the winner of the Munster final on Sunday 27th October in Ireland. With the Munster Final not being played until 26th October at Lattin Cullen GAA Grounds Tipperary, and the Quarter Final scheduled for the next day, the London girls will not know until the last minute who they play. However the Tara ladies will instead be able to focus their attention this week on keeping up their intense training sessions with coach Tomas Lally, in preparation for their match with either Scariff/Ogonolloe (Clare) or Butlerstown (Waterford).
With over 10 players from the All Ireland final team of 2011 lining out this weekend, this is a team who knows the heartache of All Ireland defeat and will be more hungry than ever to make this their year of glory. Given the talent of the new players in the squad and the hard work of all involved this year, the club hope that this is their year to bring the cup back to London.
Tara CC would like to thank everyone who has helped get them to this stage, including their sponsors, the London Camogie County Board and everyone involved with the club.
