Tara Camogie Club have reached their third Junior Championship final in a row after a hard fought win over Green Isles. Although TCC got on the scoreboard quickly, the two teams were evenly matched with Green Isles playing a much more physical game. Tara had to battle hard to get the ball past the Green Isles solid back line.
On the day however Tara proved superior with some great individual performances. Margaret Heneghan gave a 'player of the match' performance in centre back, blocking everything that came in front of her and moving forward to set up the forwards for scores.
Susanna Gill and Denise Foy were very solid in the full back line, rounding out a steady performance for the Tara defence.
In midfield Sheila Fernandes was everywhere, tracking back to help out in defence and moving forward to attack the Green Isles goal. Emer Fahy continued her run of good form in the middle of the pitch, working hard and winning every ball that came her way, scoring two points, one from play.
Denise Mooney in centre forward was the player to watch up front for Tara. Dangerous with the ball in her hand, she was instrumental in setting up scores for the Tara team.
Michelle Adair in full forward scored a goal in the first half before moving to midfield while Claire Ahern scored a goal in each half for Tara.
Final score 3-3 to 0-3
